Against Belinda Bencic and Amanda Anisimova, 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez enchanted the Parisian spectators with her playing style and incredible determination. However, this was not enough to beat Martina Trevisan, who stopped Fernandez from reaching the semi-finals.
