A bit earlier in the evening, Karolina Muchova wrapped up a 6-3, 6-2 win against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu in 93 minutes to reach the Roland-Garros fourth round for the first time on her fifth appearance. The Czech faces lucky loser Elina Avanesyan next.

9:15pm Tsitsipas bounces Schwartzman

Stefanos Tsitsipas, the 2021 runner-up, needed just two hours to eliminate former semi-finalist Diego Schwartzman 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 and punch his ticket to the Roland-Garros fourth round for a fifth consecutive year. He gets qualifier Sebastian Ofner next.

"Rendez-vous dans deux jours," Tsitsipas told the Suzanne-Lenglen crowd after his win.

"It wasn't easy at all," he said in his on-court interview with Mats Wilander. "Although it was three sets, so far it was my most difficult match. Patience, that's what I learned today."

8:22pm Alcaraz, Shapovalov headline night session

The night-session crowd on Court Philippe-Chatrier is in for an entertaining affair as world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz takes on Canadian No.26 seed Denis Shapovalov for a place in the last 16.

8:14pm Musetti breezes past Norrie

No.17 seed Lorenzo Musetti is back in the Roland-Garros fourth round, two years after he led Novak Djokovic by two-sets-to-love before retiring in the fifth against the Serb.

The 21-year-old Italian defeated British No.14 seed 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 in 2hr 8min on Court Simonne-Mathieu.

Musetti will face world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz or Canadian lefty Denis Shapovalov in the last 16.

Former US Open champion and Roland-Garros runner-up Sloane Stephens has booked her spot in the last 16 on Parisian clay for a ninth time in her career with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win over Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.

6:05pm Djokovic takes another tiebreak

Another lengthy set, this time 78 minutes long, goes Djokovic's way, and he now leads Davidovich Fokina 7-6(4), 7-6(5).

Djokovic is getting some treatment for what appears to be a left upper thigh/hip issue while Davidovich Fokina has just returned from a toilet break. This match has now lasted 2hr 52min and we haven't even started the third set.

Incredible athleticism from both players so far. They've each broken serve five times.

5:37pm Svitolina through to second week

In her first Grand Slam back since giving birth to her daughter Skai, Elina Svitolina is through to the fourth round at Roland-Garros with a battling 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Caroline Garcia's conqueror Anna Blinkova.

The match ended with an incredible rally topped off with a down-the-line backhand winner from Svitolina, who next faces No.9 seed Daria Kasatkina.

"I was coming here without any expectations... Coming back after giving birth is extremely complicated. I'm really motivated to go further in this tournament," said Svitolina on court.

In a 1hr 26min opening set, Novak Djokovic and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina twice traded breaks of serve before the world No.3 snuck away with the tiebreak for a 7-6(6) lead on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

French football legend Marcel Desailly and PSG midfielder Marco Verratti are in the house for this one.

4:06pm Sonego completes comeback

Lorenzo Sonego described it as a "miracle". The Italian world No.48 came back from two-sets-to-love down to knock out No.7 seed Andrey Rublev 5-7, 0-6, 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 and reach the fourth round at Roland-Garros for the second time, and first since 2020.

The 3hr 42min victory was Sonego's sixth career top-10 win and he next takes on No.11 seed Karen Khachanov in round four.

Kokkinakis led by a break and served for the fourth set but Khachanov broke at the right time to avoid going to a fifth.

Shortly after, Sonego clinched the fourth set and he and Rublev are going the distance on Lenglen. Khachanov awaits the winner of that match in the last 16.

Khachanov still leads 6-4, 6-1, 3-6 but this just got interesting.

Meanwhile, Rublev is cruising on Court Suzanne-Lenglen and is up 7-5, 6-0 on Sonego.
