Seventh seed Serena Williams will vie for her 13th Roland-Garros quarter-final against Elena Rybakina on Sunday as her pursuit of Grand Slam title No.23 enters the second week.

The American, who surged home to beat countrywoman Danielle Collins in the third round, will meet the 21-year-old Kazakhstani for the first time.

Fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who needed four sets to see off big-serving American John Isner in the third round, will do battle with Spanish 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta for a place in his second straight Roland-Garros quarter-final.

Two-time major champion Victoria Azarenka will also be in action when she meets in-form Russian 31st seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for a place in the quarter-finals. Pavlyuchenkova upset Azarenka’s compatriot, third seed Aryna Sabalenka in the third round.

Fresh from thwarting Reilly Opelka’s upset hopes in straight sets, second seed Daniil Medvedev will seek revenge against his Madrid conqueror, Chilean 22nd seed Cristian Garin. Both men are playing for a maiden Roland-Garros quarter-final berth.
