Three-time men’s champion Novak Djokovic will begin his bid for a 25th Grand Slam title on Sunday evening.

The Serbian, who turned 39 on Friday, opens against Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard at 8.15pm during the first night session of the tournament on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

The schedule for the opening day’s play was released on Friday evening.

Bencic opens Chatrier

There are 40 men's and women’s first round matches scheduled for Sunday across ten courts with play starting at 11am across all courts, except Chatrier which begins at 12 noon local time.

Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, Germany’s Alexander Zverev and women’s No.8 seed Mirra Andreeva all star on Chatrier during the day session.

Karen Khachanov, Hailey Baptiste, Taylor Fritz and Sorana Cirstea are lined up to appear on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.

Seeded players in action on Court Simonne-Mathieu include recent Madrid champion Marta Kostyuk, Jakub Mensik and Joao Fonseca.

Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu is one of a number of big names appearing on the outside courts as she takes on Argentina’s Solana Sierra in the third match on Court 13.
