Bullring brilliance: Goffin, Nishikori advance
Kei Nishikori, quarter-finalist at Roland Garros in 2015 and 2017, was impressed by his opening opponent. World No.304 and home wildcard Maxime Janvier was making his Tour debut in Paris. “Well, it wasn't easy. I didn't know him, so I checked a little bit, but I kind of had to learn in the match,” said Nishikori. “He was playing very aggressive, but I think I was able to get important points. I think I was little lucky to finish in three sets, because he was playing pretty good.”
