The charity day 'The Children of Roland-Garros', which had to be cancelled the past two years due to the public health situation, is back this year and better than ever.

This unmissable event will take place on Saturday May 21, with exciting surprises in store for spectators, both on the courts and in the walkways of the grounds.

On the day before the main draw gets underway, spectators have the chance to get a different taste of the tournament and enjoy a party-filled atmosphere in the grounds.

Bob Sinclar on the decks with Big Ali

Early afternoon, on Court Philippe-Chatrier, celebrities and sports personalities will team up with tennis players in this year’s tournament as well as past legends to go head-to-head as part of the “tennis ludiques” (tennis for fun) activities.

All the while, renowned DJ Bob Sinclar will be on the decks with Big Ali to keep the court bopping. Comedian Inès Reg and former rugby star Marc Maury will ensure there’s never a dull moment in the stands.

Urban tennis at Roland-Garros

Spectators will have the chance to try their hand at urban tennis. This new sport can, not only be played by anyone, it can also be played anywhere.

The public are free to have a go on two 6m x 12m courts. You can find one court that’s been graffitied by the artist Lek and a practice wall sponsored by Wilson close by the entrance to the Philippe-Chatrier court presidential box.

The other court is set up on the north forecourt of Court Simonne-Mathieu, thanks to Renault. This court has been graffitied with the geometrical diamond shapes of the Renault logo by artist Caroline Derveaux.

A day in aid of others

Profits from this charity day go towards the year-round financing of solidarity actions in FFT affiliated clubs, which are made possible through the initiative Trophées des Actions Solidaires.

These activities include helping young people living in underprivileged neighbourhoods, tennis as an adapted sport, tennis for wellness and paratennis, which includes wheelchair tennis and tennis for deaf and hard of hearing people. Profits also go towards the association Fête le Mur.

This year, members of FFT clubs who have been recognised for their work in tennis for wellness have been invited to the stadium for the day.
