From Monday up until 7th June, we are giving you the chance to get into the Roland-Garros spirit! After reliving last year’s thrilling finals, and before we revisit some classic matches from the last decade, we are shining the spotlight on the greatest champion Roland-Garros has ever known: Rafael Nadal.

Having talked about his love for the game and how tricky it is to win Roland-Garros, today the Majorcan tells us about his status and his place in tennis legend. “I try to follow my own path. I’m so lucky to experience all this. If I could win another one or two Grand Slam tournaments before the end of my career and catch up with Roger, that would be incredible.”

But the man who currently has 19 Grand Slam titles to his name – including 12 at Roland-Garros – is not dead set on equalling the Swiss maestro’s record. “Today, I’m just enjoying playing tennis. We’ll see how long I can keep up with the pace,” he concludes.
