From the beginning of the week and until Sunday 7th June, we are inviting you to get into the Roland-Garros spirit! Before delving into our archives to relive some of the tournament’s most legendary encounters, we invite you to watch this three-part mini-series dedicated to the greatest champion in RG history: Rafael Nadal.

In this first episode, the Majorcan – who has 19 Grand Slam titles to his name, including 12 at Roland-Garros – tells us about his special fondness for the Parisian tournament. “I’ve got some great memories here. Ever since my first entry, it’s been a true love story,” he admits.

But beyond his unparalleled success at the Porte d’Auteuil, he genuinely loves his sport and has sacrificed a great deal in order to stay at the top. “For a long time, I’ve played and done the same thing, year in and year out. The only way to do it, to keep stepping out on court every morning, is to be motivated, to improve, to feel the game. You appreciate the sport and you love it. You have to love sport.

Come back on Friday 22nd May to watch the second instalment of this mini-series.
