Third-round action resumes as players vie for some precious second-week spots

Play on Saturday begins at 12:00pm on Court Philippe-Chatrier and 11:00am on all other courts.

At risk of repetition, No.1 seed Iga Swiatek takes to court to looking to continue her remarkable winning streak. She opens play on Court Philippe-Chatrier against Montenegro's Danka Kovinic, who took out No.25 seed Liudmila Samsonova in the first round.

Then follows a trio of French interest for the fans on Chatrier as Alize Cornet meets Zheng Qinwen and Gilles Simon takes on Marin Cilic to complete the daytime session.

Then, two friends who have each got the grounds abuzz - Holger Rune and Hugo Gaston - wrap things up in the evening.

On Court Suzanne-Lenglen, exciting French prospect Leolia Jeanjean meets Irina-Camelia Begu to get things going, while at the other end of the day Sweden's Mikael Ymer takes on last year's finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Elsewhere, 2020 quarter-finalist Andrey Rublev will be looking to book his second week berth when he takes on fellow Roland-Garros junior champion Cristian Garin.

Casper Ruud, who has never made it past the third round in Paris, will be hoping to break that habit with victory over Italy's Lorenzo Sonego on Court 14.

In the third round of the men's doubles, No.1 seeds Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury meet Maxime Cressy and Feliciano Lopez second up on Court 13.

No.2 seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic open proceedings on Court 7, where they meet Matwe Middelkoop and Rohan Bopanna.
