10 – World No.1 Naomi Osaka will hope to have her serve firing again. The two-time Grand Slam champion struck 10 aces in her opening round comeback over Schmiedlova, which was her sixth match this season to post double digits in aces.
14 – Novak Djokovic, hoping to clinch his second sweep of all four Grand Slams – the ‘Nole Slam’, hasn’t lost in the second round in Paris since his debut year in 2005. 14 years ago the Serbian qualified for the main draw, before falling to Guillermo Coria in the second round. Switzerland’s Henri Laaksonen stands in his way in their first meeting.
31 – the average ranking of the players Victoria Azarenka has prevailed past on clay in 2019. The two-time Australian Open champion is 7-3 on clay in 2019, with two victories over top-10 opposition. The Belarusian will hope to snap Osaka’s 15-match winning streak at the majors.
41 – Towering Croatian Ivo Karlovic (40) became the old player to win a match at Roland-Garros since Torben Ulrich (44) back in 1973 with his triumph over Feliciano Lopez. Now, Karlovic is bidding to navigate past Australian Jordan Thompson. Their only previous meeting was a four-sets tussle at Roland-Garros 2016 and the world No.92 catapulted 41 aces on course to victory.
1999 – Amanda Anisimova, the youngest woman in the draw at 17 years and 282 days, is seeking to topple 11th seed Aryna Sabalenka to become the youngest American to reach the Roland-Garros third round since Serena Williams 20 years ago.
