On November 2, Alizé Cornet officially became manager of France’s women’s national teams and captain of the French Billie Jean King Cup squad, just two months after bringing her professional playing career to a definitive close. A former world No.11 (her career-high ranking) and six-time WTA champion, the 2022 Australian Open quarter-finalist initially stepped away at Roland-Garros 2024 before returning briefly in the spring with one last goal in mind: a final appearance at Wimbledon.
Clear-headed in her decision and honoured to take on these new responsibilities, the 35-year-old from Nice looks back on her appointment and shares her enduring love for the sport, a discipline she continued to follow closely throughout 2025.
