Former junior World No.1, Taylor Fritz quickly made a name for himself by reaching – and winning – his first ATP final at just 18 years old in 2016. This early breakthrough made him the youngest American to achieve such a feat since the creation of the ATP Tour. Since then, his rise has been gradually increasing.
After a first appearance in the Top 10 in October 2022, he stayed in this elite group for good since September 2024, following his run to the US Open final (lost to Jannik Sinner). For that matter, the two players met again a few weeks later, for the title at the ATP Finals, where Fritz reached his career-high ranking: World No.4.
Among his most memorable achievements, two victories aver Rafael Nadal stand out: the Indian Wells final in 2022 and the stage group of the ATP Finals that same year (for his debuts in the competition). Although he claims he doesn’t have a favourite surface, the Californian born is particularly at ease on grass, where he collected many titles – like in Eastbourne (2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025). During the 2025 season, he also reached the semi-finals in Wimbledon, falling only to the defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz. His explosive power, combined with his impressive heights (1m96), give him a real advantage on grass and make his serve particularly devastating – he even finished the 2025 season as the player with the most aces (867).
Representing the United States, Taylor Fritz has won the United Cup twice (in 2023 and 2025) and claimed the bronze medal in doubles in the Paris 2024 Olympics games alongside compatriot Tommy Paul.
