The first Italian in history to reach world No.1 (in June 2024, at just 22 years old), Jannik Sinner stands as the emblem of a new golden age for Italian tennis. Born in 2001 in San Candido, in the heart of the Dolomites, he first excelled as a promising young skier before turning fully to tennis, a sport in which he quickly displayed exceptional maturity.

Having turned professional in 2018, Sinner’s rise has been nothing short of relentless. Calm, precise, disciplined, powerful and consistent, he broke into the Top 100 the very next year before winning the Next Gen Finals and being named the ATP’s “Newcomer of the Year.” His first Masters 1000 title in Toronto in 2023 marked another milestone, followed by a runner-up finish at the ATP Finals and a Davis Cup triumph with Italy.

The 2024 season proved a defining chapter. A string of major titles, milestones and records confirmed his steady rise, culminating in a commanding victory at the ATP Finals, the sign of a player who had truly come of age. An achievement he managed to replicate in 2025, perfectly embodying the role of indoor master.

Four-time Grand Slam champion, Sinner thrives on every surface, adapting seamlessly to the nuances of each tournament. Relentless for his opponents, his game is built around a blistering forehand, a laser-precise two-handed backhand and an uncommon ability to accelerate through diagonals. Comfortable at the net yet devastating from the baseline, he dictates an unyielding tempo that pushes rivals to the brink.

Marked by thrilling duels on the sport’s greatest areas, his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz has ushered men’s tennis into a bold new era: that of the Big Two. Once heralded as the natural heir to Italy’s rich sporting tradition, Jannik Sinner has now become much more than that: a central pillar of contemporary tennis, a champion forged in fast-forward, and one of the defining figures of the global sporting stage.
