The 2024 edition of the Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault, which took place from 3rd to 7th April in São Paulo, saw two young Brazilians secure a wildcard for the junior tournament at Roland-Garros 2024.

Nauhany Silva is only 14 years old but she has already enjoyed some outstanding experiences on the tennis court. She hopes to follow in the footsteps of countrywoman Beatriz Haddad Maia, who reached the semi-finals in the women’s singles last year, and is now one step closer to realising her dream after clinching a wildcard for the junior draw at Roland-Garros 2024.

At home and in front of 900 spectators, the São Paulo native stayed strong under pressure and defeated all of her opponents to win the prize, after a 7-5 6-2 victory against Hanne Estrada in the final of the Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault.

“It’s been a truly unforgettable week,” enthused Nauhany Silva. “What I’ve experienced here is very special and I will remember it for the rest of my life. The spectators supported me every day and I can’t thank them enough. I want to take every one of them to Paris with me. Thank you!

It has always been a dream of mine to play at Roland-Garros and now it is going to come true. It has been an incredible week with a top-class final, as we both played extremely well. I can’t wait to get to Paris!”

The semi-finalist of the Petits As 2024 will get to live out this experience alongside fellow Brazilian Luis Miguel (age 15), who defeated Dante Pagani 6-4 6-4 in the final of the boys’ tournament. The two young compatriots triumphed after a week full of excitement on the courts of the Sociedade Harmonia de Tênis in São Paulo, where the competition was held between 3rd and 7th April, bringing together 16 boys and 16 girls aged under 16 from 11 different South American countries. Off the court, the competitors got to meet Juan Martin Del Potro and Bruno Soares, the two ambassadors of the Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault, who took part in various events and clinics during the week.
