Roll on Sunday...

'A special occasion'

Jannik Sinner on court talking to Alex Corretja: "It was such a special occasion playing against Novak in the semifinals of a Grand Slam. I had to step up, play the best tennis I could. It shows again what a role model he is for all of us."

22:28

Sinner bt Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3)

It's TWENTY Grand Slam wins in a row for Jannik Sinner who beats Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3) inside a noisy Court Philippe-Chatrier to move into the first Roland-Garros final of his career.

The 38-year-old Djokovic threw everything he had at the Italian in a bid to keep alive his quest for a record 25th major singles title but he just could not find a way through. The Serb even held three set points with Sinner serving at 4-5 in the third but the world No.1 refused to buckle.

The reigning US Open and Australian Open champion will meet world No.2 Carlos Alcaraz in a dream final on Sunday.

It will be the 12th meeting between the two. Alcaraz leads 7-4, has won their last four matches, including here in Paris in the semifinals 12 months ago, and a few weeks ago too in the Rome final. It will be their first meeting in a Grand Slam final.

Second set Sinner 7-5

Jannik Sinner comes through a gripping, energy-sapping 69-minute second set. Novak Djokovic threw the kitchen sink at him. It was looking like it would be fairly straightforward when the Italian served for it at 5-4, only for Djokovic to finally create a couple of break points and convert the second of those to get the scoreboard back to 5-5. Sinner responded immediately however to break the Serb again and eventually came through a tough service game to go two sets in front. Djokovic immediately gets the trainer out for a medical time out (upper left leg). The top seed Sinner is a set away from his first Roland-Garros final.

First set Sinner 6-4

One break of serve is enough for Jannik Sinner to take the first set off Novak Djokovic 6-4 after 47 minutes. The Italian broke in the fifth game for a 3-2 lead and never faced a break point on his own serve throughout the opening chapter played in breezy conditions with the Chatrier roof open. This second set is now surely a must-win set for the Serb...

Let's hear it for Lorenzo...

Get well soon, Lorenzo Musetti. What a clay season for the 23-year-old: Monte-Carlo runner-up, and semifinals in Madrid, Rome and Paris. Sixth in the live ATP rankings, No.5 in the Race to Turin.

17:05

Alcaraz bt Musetti 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-0, 2-0 ret

And in the blink of an eye it’s all over. Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, Lorenzo Musetti retires injured. The Italian had the trainer on court towards the end of the third set for treatment to what looked like a leg injury.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is into back-to-back Roland-Garros finals and he’ll return on Sunday to face either Sinner or Djokovic.

16:58

Third set Alcaraz 6-0

Demonstrating just how important that second set tiebreak was, Carlos Alcaraz makes good use of his momentum to dominate the third, taking it to love for the loss of just FIVE points in 21 minutes. The Spaniard is motoring towards another Roland-Garros final.

Hewett survives marathon semifinal

In the last few minutes over on Court 14, British wheelchair men's singles second seed Alfie Hewett came through a titanic deciding tiebreak to fight past Argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez to put himself into Saturday’s final against Japanese top seed Tokito Oda.

That semifinal couldn’t have been any closer, with Hewett - who plays the men’s doubles final later today - edging it 6-4 4-6, 7-6(10) after 2hrs 46min.

Later: Sinner vs Djokovic

Later today (not before 7pm Paris time), top seed Jannik Sinner and 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic will be on Chatrier to contest the second semifinal. Here's a trailer to enjoy ahead of that one...

16:33

Second set Alcaraz 7-6(3)

A 67-minute second set goes the way of the Spaniard. Twice Alcaraz was up a break - he served for the set at 6-5 but was broken to 15 - before a shootout settled it. Despite having just dropped serve, the second seed jumped into a 3-0 lead in the breaker and that seemed to set the tone. He switched ends with a healthy 5-1 advantage and soon afterwards wrapped up a crucial set to stay in the match.

Salisbury-Skupski into doubles final

Away from the Alcaraz-Musetti duel for a moment and over on Court Suzanne-Lenglen a thriller of a men’s doubles semifinal is taken by Brits Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski who beat Americans Christian Harrison and Evan King 10-7 in a deciding tiebreak.

Salisbury and Skupski’s 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(7) victory earns them a shot at Spain’s Marcel Granollers and Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos in Saturday’s final on Chatrier.

Trading breaks in the second

Carlos Alcaraz is quick to respond after the loss of the opener and breaks to love in the third game of the second for a 2-1 lead, sealing the momentum shift with a beautiful drop shot winner.

But now there’s an instant response from Musetti who breaks to 15 in the next game to get it back to 2-2 second set.

First set Musetti 6-4

Do we have an upset brewing on Chatrier as Lorenzo Musetti grabs the opener 6-4?

The Italian did well to fend off a break point serving at 3-3 and then breaks to 15 at 5-4 when a wild Alcaraz forehand misses the target on set point.

Alcaraz will quickly want to improve his first serve percentage from the opener - just 41% found the box.

Advantage Italy…

It’s just over an hour until the first men’s semifinal of the day gets under way on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Can Lorenzo Musetti stop defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in his tracks when the two clay court experts get under way at 2.30pm Paris time?

A brace of trophies

There's so much action around the grounds today that we've had two titles awarded in quick succession.

On Court 7, No.1 seeds Guy Sasson and Niels Vink have taken the quad wheelchair doubles title in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Ahmet Kaplan and Donald Ramphadi 🏆

And over on Court 12, Maximilian Taucher has won a second successive boys' wheelchair singles title. The junior wheelchair events have only been running since 2024, giving Taucher an impressive 100 percent record at Roland-Garros. The Austrian 17-year-old beat the USA's Charlie Cooper for his second RG singles title 🏆

Rapid recap of Day 12

There was drama galore yesterday - exceptional tennis from two players at the top of their game, and the closing chapter in what is almost certainly only the first volume of a French fairytale.

But before all of that, the first trophy was awarded. Chris Oddo decamped to Court Philippe-Chatrier to watch Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori become the first Italian mixed doubles champions in Paris since 1958 with their victory over the USA’s Taylor Townsend and Evan King.

Then for the two showdowns to determine the Roland-Garros 2025 women’s final line-up.

First up, No.1 seed Aryna Sabalenka faced defending champion Iga Swiatek. The Pole was on a 26-match unbeaten streak and bidding for a fourth successive RG title. Sabalenka stepped up and put paid to those plans. Luckily for us, Dan Imhoff was there and gave us his take.

There was really only one question in advance of the second semi-final. Could French No.361 Lois Boisson continue her audacious run through the draw and add Coco Gauff to her list of top-ten victims? No, as it turned out. But Alex Sharp was on hand to make sense of it all.

The Daily Highlights and Best Moments by Emirates will give you a great flavour of everything that was going on, and of course we’d be nowhere without Lee Goodall and his trusty Daily Wrap.

Shot of the Day? There were so many to choose from, but check out this impressive playmaking from Gauff.

11:00

Welcome back!

It's Friday, which means it's men's semi-finals day.

At 14:30, No.8 seed Lorenzo Musetti will bring his Italian flair to Court Philippe-Chatrier to challenge defending champion and No.2 seed Carlos Alcaraz, who was in exceptional form as he dismissed Tommy Paul in the quarter-final. This is definitely a must-watch.

Alix Ramsay looks ahead to the encounter and gives us her take on it all.

Order of Play for Day 13

Italian fans may want to take a quick breather after that as they'll be straight back into the thick of it when Jannik Sinner steps up. The No.1 seed is bidding to add an RG title to the three he's already won in Melbourne and New York. He faces Novak Djokovic, who is bidding to add a fourth RG title to take his overall tally to a record 25.

But before all that there are some trophies to award. The silverware is going to be coming thick and fast from now on, so we'll bring you all the action to help you keep up 🏆

The Great British pairing of Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid are going for their sixth consecutive Roland-Garros title. Their opponents will be decided later today.

In the Quad wheelchair doubles final, No.1 seeds Guy Sasson and Niels Vink take on Turkey's Ahmet Kaplan and Donald Ramphadi of South Africa.

In the women's wheelchair doubles final, Olympic champion Yui Kamiji and partner Kgothatso Montjane meet No.2 seeds Li Xiaohui and Wang Ziying.

And the boys' and girls' wheelchair singles and doubles competitions also reach their conclusion.

That's seven finals today. Keep checking back!
