With their brand-new capsule collection, specially designed for Roland-Garros, adidas are highlighting the elegance of Parisian tennis by drawing inspiration from tennis icons of the past. The three-stripe brand is unveiling a new line that combines striking design with high performance. For those who feel nostalgic about the tennis scene of the past, this retro collection is sure to deliver, both on and off the courts.

Retro icons

Paying homage to Roland-Garros’ reputation as the circuit’s most fashion-conscious tournament, this collection explores Parisian tennis style and celebrates the French attitude on the courts. Inspired by the legacy of former tennis icons, this collection reflects the beauty of the game through the decades. Featuring retro accents with a modern vibe, it ties in perfectly with today’s trends. The fashionable palette of pastel colours, centred around blue and coral and offset with a tricolour trim, give a nod to the host country and the outfits worn by the former champions of this emblematic Grand Slam.

A collection modelled by the players

Worn by some of the best tennis players of the moment, the collection is inspired by the style and performance of these athletes on the legendary Parisian clay. The collection represents timeless French style with a comprehensive range of items designed for all shapes and sizes: t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, dresses, skirts, tracksuit trousers, jackets, trainers and other must-have accessories. Let’s take a closer look…

In the women’s, Kristina Mladenovic will take to the court dressed in a lightweight slim-fit dress adorned with feminine pleats, integrated briefs and tricolour details. Jelena Ostapenko, meanwhile, will turn heads in a navy-blue racer-back tank top with an eye-catching pleat overlay.

In the men’s, Dominic Thiem and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will don a striking navy-blue polo shirt with an elegant tricolour detail on the collar and coral bands on the sleeves.

Sascha Zverev, Lucas Pouille and Tomas Berdych will wear a slim-fit t-shirt with two buttons at the neck and adorned with two prestigious logos: adidas and Roland-Garros.

A veritable collection within the collection, the “Barricade” line by Stella McCartney brilliantly combines cutting-edge adidas technology with the British designer’s sophisticated style.

High performance

Striking style and cutting-edge technology are the keywords of this collection.

As the only Grand Slam tournament played on clay, Roland-Garros requires specific equipment. adidas are experimenting with high-performance Clima technology, which is specially designed for this surface, to make the fabric breathable, draw sweat quickly away from the skin and provide UV protection.

Some of the collection’s pieces also include Boost technology, made using innovative fabrics, which blends comfort and performance with an eye-catching design.

If you want to emulate your favourite tennis stars, pick up some pieces from the RG online store or in the boutiques during the tournament.
