Fourteen-time Grand Slam doubles champion Venus Williams and Roland-Garros partner Hailey Baptiste will go up against Japan’s Miyo Kato and Mexico’s Giuliana Olmos in the first round of the women’s draw in Paris.

Venus, who turns 46 next month, was named on the Paris doubles acceptance list earlier this month.

She lost to sister Serena in the 2002 Roland-Garros singles final, and they teamed up to claim the doubles trophy twice in 1999 and 2010.

Williams has also won seven major singles titles and held both the singles and doubles world No.1 ranking.

There will be no title defence for last year’s women's champions Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini as Errani will join with young Austrian Lilli Tagger, who won the girls’ singles in 2025.

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, and Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend are the top-seeded teams.

Spain’s Granollers and his Argentine partner Zeballos will also start as defending champions after claiming their maiden major title as a pair in Paris 12 months ago.

They will open against Marton Fucsovics and Marcos Giron in the 64-pair draw.

Siniakova and Townsend, who also picked up the Madrid WTA 1000 trophy during the past few weeks, must get past Croatian duo Petra Marcinko and Antonia Ruzic

In-form men’s Rome champions Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli are No.5 seeds and face Spanish combo Pablo Carreno Busta and Jaume Munar
