See you Sunday

We'll bring Saturday to a close on a memorable day for teenager Mirra Andreeva, who wins her first Grand Slam title at just 19 years of age.

There are only two finals on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Sunday - the women's doubles final at 11am followed by the men's singles final between Germany's Alexander Zverev and Italy's Flavio Cobolli. The pre-men's final show starts at 3pm Paris time.

If you missed any of the coverage today you can find the match highlights, trophy presentation, press conferences and best moments of the day over in the 'videos' channel and look out for features on what both finalists had to say post-match, as well as the daily wrap a bit later on.

Andreeva-Chwalinska highlights

If you missed any of Saturday's women's final here are the highlights for you to enjoy. Mirra Andreeva did an impressive job of mastering her opponent, her nerves and the conditions to win her first Grand Slam title with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Maja Chwalinska.

17:00

Mary Pierce to present trophy

Winner of Roland-Garros in 2000 (as well as the 1995 Australian Open) Mary Pierce comes down on to court to take part in the trophy ceremony. A video looking back at the Frenchwoman's title run 26 years ago is played on the big screen. Pierce beat Andreeva's coach Conchita Martinez in that Paris final.

The Polish 24-year-old is the first to speak. "I'll never forget these three weeks," Chwalinska tells the Chatrier crowd to warm applause. "Paris will stay forever in my heart."

16:44

Andreeva is Roland-Garros champion

Mirra Andreeva wins her first Grand Slam title at the age of 19 as she puts the finishing touches to a sparkling performance to beat Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in Saturday's final on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

The teenager showed her class by winning nine games in a row from 2-3 in the first set to move ahead 5-0 in the second set.

Although Chwalinska extended the final by two more games, she'd left herself with too much to do and Andreeva finished with a backhand winner on her first match point.

Andreeva is the seventh-youngest Roland-Garros women's champion in the Open era and the youngest to win in Paris since Monica Seles in 1992.

Andreeva leads 6-3, 3-0

Teenager Mirra Andreeva isn't putting a foot wrong at the moment. She looks so composed and confident as she sweeps through seven successive games from 2-3 in the first set to put herself within touching distance of a first Grand Slam trophy. Surely only a bout of nerves can stop her at this stage. She's played intelligent, controlled tennis throughout this final.

'Guto' makes history for Brazil

Away from Chatrier (there are nine finals being played at RG today), young Brazilian Guto Miguel is the Roland-Garros boys' singles champion after a 6-3, 6-4 win over American Michael Antonius in the Court Simonne-Mathieu sunshine.

The 17-year-old is the first Brazilian ever to win a Roland-Garros junior singles title and he follows in the footsteps of countryman Joao Fonseca, who was also a Grand Slam junior champion after claiming the US Open boys' title in 2023. Miguel will become junior world No.1 with today's win.

16:09

First set Andreeva 6-3

Mirra Andreeva has been very impressive during the last 10 minutes. Trailing 2-3, it felt like the world No.8 had a battle on her hands but she has found another gear and won the last four games of the set to race through the second half of that opener.

The 19-year-old is so far doing a great job of dealing with her opponent's variety, a tricky wind swirling around Chatrier and the pressure of coming into her first Grand Slam final as favourite. She's one set away from a first major trophy.

16:01

Andreeva breaks for 4-3

After a Mirra Andreeva hold of serve to get it back to 3-3 first set, Maja Chwalinska misses a forehand well long at 30-all in the next game to give the eighth seed a breakpoint and she converts when the Pole then nets a sliced backhand. Andreeva will serve at 4-3.

Chwalinska settling

We've seen a competitive, long first four games that featured four breaks of serve - nobody was able to hold during those nervy opening stages.

There have been lots of long rallies, loads of that Chwalinska variety that we've seen over the last few days and the qualifier is certainly making it uncomfortable for the world No.8 Andreeva. There's also a breeze for the players to deal with too.

The Pole is visibly growing in confidence as she holds to love in game five and she's got a 3-2 lead and most of the crowd support too.

The result continues Oda's dominance at Roland-Garros after claiming his fourth successive trophy in Paris. It's a ninth Grand Slam singles crown for the 20-year-old already.

Boys' singles final underway

No.1 seed from Brazil, Luis Guto Miguel, and the USA's No.13 seed Michael Antonius have just got started over on Court Simonne-Mathieu. It's the second meeting between the pair, but they haven't played each other since 2023 - when Antonius got the win.

Victory for Vink

Dutchman Niels Vink is the latest RG champion after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Turkey's Ahmet Kaplan in a rain-interrupted quad singles final on Court 14. It's the 23-year-old's ninth Grand Slam singles success. Vink now holds all four Grand Slam quad singles titles after trophies at Wimbledon and at the US Open last year, as well as in Melbourne in January. He aims to complete a calendar slam in 2026 by winning all four majors in the same season. Two down, two to go...

What the RG reporters covered on Friday

With two days to go, the rolandgarros.com writers are still standing and bringing you the stories that matter.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s women’s final, Chris Oddo dived into some of the numbers that sum up Maja Chwalinska’s astounding run from qualifying to the trophy match. Alex Sharp went the other side of the net and sat down with Mirra Andreeva’s coach Conchita Martinez to get the lowdown on her charge.

Alex then headed off to Chatrier to watch the first of the men’s semifinals, where another Alex - Zverev - got the better of Jakub Mensik to head into his fourth major final. Chris took a look at what it means for the German to get to this stage again, and also gave us a poetic taste of the atmosphere on court, including the inevitable Vamos Rafa! we’ve come to expect from excited fans at Roland-Garros.

Dan Imhoff was on his way to watch the second of the men's singles semifinals when we got the heartbreaking news that Matteo Arnaldi was forced to withdraw due to a viral illness. Dan brought us all up to speed on that instead and how Arnaldi’s compatriot - who he was due to play in the semifinal - will now face Zverev on Sunday.

Lee Goodall’s wrap summed it all up - and more.

Record 24th major for De Groot

The incredible Diede de Groot has just won her TWENTY-FOURTH Grand Slam singles title on Court Suzanne-Lenglen with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Frenchwoman Ksenia Chasteau in the women's wheelchair final.

It’s De Groot’s sixth title in Paris but, significantly, her first Grand Slam success since hip surgery towards the end of 2024 which kept her out of competitive tennis for eight months.

It is nearly two years since the 29-year-old from the Netherlands has won a major singles title, her last coming on the grass at Wimbledon 2024.

12:50

De Groot in control

Under the Court Suzanne-Lenglen roof, Dutch legend Diede de Groot is dominating her women’s wheelchair singles final against Frenchwoman Ksenia Chasteau. De Groot has raced through the first set 6-1 in 26 minutes in her pursuit of a 24th major singles title.

On Court 14 Niels Vink and Ahmet Kaplan have been stop-start with the on-off rain but they're back on court now and Vink has wrapped up the first set 6-3.

Granollers and Zeballos are RG champions

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos secure a second Roland-Garros doubles title and a third Grand Slam title together with a comprehensive 6-4, 6-2 win on Chatrier.

It was a tight first set against second seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten but once the opener was in the bag, the Spanish-Argentine top seeds and defending champions got better and better.

They quickly went ahead 3-0 in the second with a double break and although they dropped serve midway through the set Granollers soon placed another perfect return up the line to break again, this time for 4-1. The Spaniard served out the match to 30, sealing it with a drive volley on match point after an hour and 16 minutes.

They win the title without dropping a set. That was a brilliant performance today.

12:07

Top seeds up set and 3-0

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos are absolutely flying on Chatrier. After winning the opener they break in the first game of the second when Henry Patten double faults on game point, before turning on the style in the third game by taking the Harri Heliovaara serve for a set and double break lead. They can almost touch that RG trophy.

11:54

First set Granollers and Zeballos 6-4

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos are a set away from defending their men’s doubles title here in Paris as they take the first set 6-4 under the Chatrier roof against Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.

The Spanish-Argentine team were the first to break, then were pegged back to 3-3 first set before taking the Heliovaara serve to edge ahead 4-3. They made that second break count by eventually serving out the opener.

Vink vs Kaplan

On Court 14 we had our first wheelchair singles final under way for a couple of games where Dutch No.2 seed Niels Vink is favourite to win the quad trophy against unseeded Ahmet Kaplan from Turkey. The rain has just started however so they’re off court after two games played and it’s 1-1 first set after a break apiece.

11:15

Roof closed

Neither of these men's doubles teams has lost a set en route to today’s final. The roof is closed for this final by the way as there might be a bit of rain around so we’re playing it safe.

Men's doubles final coming up

The men’s doubles finalists are out on Chatrier with top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos looking to defend their title against Finn-British second seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.

Granollers and Zeballos go looking for their third major title as a team after winning here in Paris and again in New York last season.

Heliovaara and Patten are also hoping for a third Grand Slam trophy together after winning Wimbledon in 2024 and the 2025 Australian Open.

Their head to head is tied at 2-2 with their most recent meeting in Miami this year when Heliovaara and Patten won that semifinal 6-2, 6-3.
