Named WTA Revelation of the Year in 2025, Victoria Mboko embodies the bright future of women’s tennis. At the start of that remarkable season, she wasn’t even ranked inside the Top 300. Twelve months later, she had rocketed into the Top 10 at just 19 years old, a meteoric rise not seen since fellow Canadian Bianca Andreescu in 2019.

Born in the United States and raised near Toronto from early childhood, Mboko might have climbed even faster if she hadn't been hampered by injuries after a promising junior career (world No.6 in 2022). As soon as she settled full‑time on tour in 2025, she collected multiple ITF titles and earned her first major wins over Paula Badosa in Miami and Coco Gauff in Rome. Then, she made a great impression at her first Grand Slam: after coming through qualifying at Roland‑Garros, she reached the third round and broke into the Top 100.

Once launched, the Mboko rocket truly took off during the summer. She claimed her first major tour title at home, winning the WTA 1000 in Montréal with victories over Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Naomi Osaka in the final. There was no slowing down: early in 2026, she backed up her breakthrough by reaching finals in Adelaide and Doha, sealing her place in the world’s Top 10.
