The events are part of the “Rendez-vous à Roland-Garros” initiative, a launch pad for the Parisian Grand Slam in France and abroad. These exclusive parties provide a special platform for announcing the new collaboration between these two prestigious brands and officially launching the 2019 Roland Garros season.

Brazil got the ball rolling on Wednesday 8th May, in the residence of the French consul in São Paulo. Gustavo Kuerten, three-time winner of Roland Garros and the Grand Slam’s ambassador since 2018, attended the event.

Next, it will be China’s turn to fly the flag for the clay-court tournament. This party, which will be held on Tuesday 14th May in the residence of the French Ambassador to China in Beijing, will be attended by Li Na, representing Rolex, as well as Jin Dong, who has been Roland Garros’ ambassador in China since last year.

Finally, though the qualifying rounds will already have started, the “Roland-Garros Opening Parties presented by Rolex” will finish in a blaze of glory on Tuesday 21st May at the historic Imperial Hotel in New Delhi. Vijay Amritraj, representing Rolex, will be there to bring this series of unparalleled celebrations to a close.

Through this long-term commitment, Rolex hope to support and develop tennis to ensure continuity and inspire the younger generations. As a Premium Partner and the Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of Roland Garros, Rolex are strengthening the bond they have nurtured with the tennis world for more than forty years.
