Candiotto, Javia win Junior Wild Card Series

Brazilian and Indian talents earn place in Roland-Garros junior singles draws

Brazil's Ana Candiotto and India's Dev Vipul Javia are the winners of the Roland-Garros Junior Wild Card Series by OPPO.

The matches were played on Court 4 on Friday where the two emerged victorious in their respective competitions to book berths in the junior singles draws, which take place from 4-10 October.

The Roland-Garros Junior Wild Card Series by OPPO, sponsored by the leading brand in smartphones, offered up-and-coming, under-18s junior boys and girls the chance to play against each other on clay.

For the seventh year running, the qualifying rounds took place in three different countries: India (Delhi), Brazil (Brasilia), and for the first time, Mexico (with qualifying stages in Guadalajara and Monterrey and the final round in Mexico City).

The Roland-Garros Junior Wild Card Series by OPPO plays a key role in expanding Roland-Garros’s international reach.

After each won the competition in their respective countries, on Friday Magdalena Nuñez Pureco (MEX) and Candiotto battled it out in the final of the Roland-Garros Junior Wild Card Series by OPPO, which Candiotto won 6-1, 6-0.

In the boys’ competition, Javia qualified for the junior main draw, beating the Brazilian Nicolas Marcondes Zanellato 0-6, 6-1, [10-4] and Mexico's Emiliano Aguilera Guerrero 6-2, 3-6, [10-8] on the Parisian clay of Roland-Garros.
