Bernard Giudicelli, President of the French Tennis Federation, Rafael Westrupp, President of the Brazilian Tennis Federation, and Thierry Lonziano, Marketing and Communication Director of Peugeot, today signed an agreement launching the “RG Amateur Series by Peugeot” in Brazil.

This event, jointly organised by the FFT and CBT and sponsored by Peugeot, gives amateur tennis players an opportunity to take part in tournaments played exclusively on clay courts.

Three tournaments will be held in Brazil in 2018, bringing together 22 player categories. The eight best players in each category will qualify for the final, which is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro in March 2019.

The qualifiers will be held from 23 to 26 August in Brasilia (at the Iate Clube de Brasilia), from 4 to 7 October in Belo Horizonte (at the Minas Tenis Clube) and from 22 to 25 November in Porto Alegre (at the Club Leopoldina Juvenil).

The Minas Tenis Clube in Belo Horizonte is the first club in Brazil to be awarded the “Roland-Garros Club” label. This distinction is reserved for the most beautiful clay court clubs in the world.
