Long regarded as a talented player who had yet to fully break through, Jasmine Paolini has, over the years, risen through a patient and remarkable progression to become one of the leading figures of modern Italian tennis. Introduced to the sport at the age of five within a multicultural family environment (an Italian father and a mother of Ghanaian and Polish heritage), she first learned her craft at her local club in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana before joining the national training centre in Tirrenia as a teenager, where she refined her style and gained consistency.
Professional since 2015, she climbed the ranks step by step, relying on the qualities that would become her trademarks: extraordinary foot speed, sharp tactical awareness, exceptional court coverage and unwavering tenacity. Her career truly shifted gears in 2023, a season marked by finals runs in Monastir and Palermo as well as notable success over several top‑10 players.
But the 2024 season proved to be the true turning point in Paolini’s career. In Dubai, she captured her first WTA 1000 title before delivering an outstanding Grand Slam season. Runner‑up at Roland‑Garros and then at Wimbledon – becoming the first Italian woman in history to reach the final on the London grass –, she firmly established herself among the elite. That same year, she claimed the Olympic gold medal in doubles alongside Sara Errani at the Paris 2024 Games, confirming her rise across all disciplines.
In 2025, Paolini continued her momentum by winning the Rome WTA 1000 in both singles and doubles, then lifting the Roland‑Garros doubles trophy, again with her “big sister” Errani. Her consistent performances propelled her permanently into the world’s top tier: she secured a long‑term place in the Top 10 and climbed as high as world No.4, matching the best ranking in Italian women’s tennis history. A nation that owes her a great thanks, as shown by her incredible performances in the Billie Jean King Cup in recent years.
Small in stature but immense in energy, Jasmine Paolini embodies a tennis built on intensity, variety and courage. Her ability to dictate play despite her build, her mental resilience and her refusal to concede the slightest inch make her both a formidable and fiercely competitive opponent. Now, she carries the ambitions of a nation that has firmly reclaimed its place on the world stage.
