Ekaterina Alexandrova made her first steps on the main tour in 2016. Although she has a particular fondness for hard-court tournaments, her greatest successes have come on grass: during her first season among the professionals, she got herself noticed at Wimbledon. After coming through the qualifying rounds, the World No.223 reached the second round by defeating Ana Ivanovic (No.23) in straight sets. Less than a year later, she broke into the Top 100, and in 2020 she lifted her first WTA trophy in Shenzhen after beating Elena Rybakina in the final.

The 2023 season marked a turning point for her: by reaching the third round of the Australian Open, she entered the Top 20 for the first time in her career. That same year, she also claimed the title in ‘s-Hertogenbosch for the second time. In 2025, she took another major step forward by winning her first WTA 500 title in Linz, while also reaching the final in Monterrey, Seoul and Ningbo as well as the round of 16 in the last three Grand Slam events. For the first time of her career, she finished the season inside the Top 10 and received the status of alternate at the WTA Finals in Riyadh.

Equipped with an explosive tennis built on flat and clean ball-striking and a constant desire to dictate the rallies, Ekaterina Alexandrova embodies a very offensive style and is very dangerous on every surface. Capable of hitting winners consecutively, she is also known for her ability to overturn matches against higher-ranked opponents thanks to her clear-headedness in key moments. With several strong seasons at the highest level behind her, she remains in pursuit of a first bigger title.
