Roland-Garros and BNP Paribas are extending their partnership from 2027 for a minimum of five years.

A long-lasting partnership

In 1973, Philippe Chatrier, then president of the French Tennis Federation, wanted to expand the Roland-Garros central court, named after him in 2001. The BNP branch in Auteuil, which managed the federation’s account, supported and financed the construction works. The three letters “BNP” appeared for the first time on the court backdrop.

More than fifty years on, the Paris tournament and its historic sponsor are continuing to work together, with the aim of beginning a new chapter. Roland-Garros and BNP Paribas are extending their partnership from 2027 for a minimum of five years.

This renewed partnership between BNP Paribas and the French Tennis Federation, covering both the Roland-Garros tournament and support for grassroots tennis, reflects a long-term commitment. BNP Paribas contributes to the tournament’s development, in terms of infrastructure and spectator experience, while also working alongside the federation on shared initiatives such as supporting the next generation of players and promoting the sport at club level.

"We are very proud to extend our historic partnership with BNP Paribas, the tournament’s official sponsor. Together, BNP Paribas and Roland-Garros are opening a new chapter in their shared history. We would like to thank BNP Paribas, which has over the years become inseparable from the tournament, for its trust, loyalty and commitment to promoting our sport in France and around the world. For more than fifty years, BNP Paribas has played a key role in supporting the development of the Paris Grand Slam, as well as French tennis more broadly, through its support of the federation’s policies. We look forward to taking on the next challenges together,” Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation.

"After celebrating our golden anniversary in 2023, we are now looking ahead to our diamond anniversary  –  a powerful symbol of a story that has been unfolding for the past 53 years! Together, we have grown and evolved, building a unique partnership based on loyalty and a passion for a sport we support and deeply love. This renewal confirms our shared vision for tennis, from amateur players to the biggest Grand Slam tournament. We thank the French Tennis Federation for honouring us with its trust and collaboration over so many years, a partnership we are proud to extend," Thierry Laborde, Deputy Chief Operating Officer at BNP Paribas.

BNP Paribas, a key figure in tennis, far beyond Roland-Garros

BNP Paribas has chosen to support a unique sport: tennis. Its commitment today extends far beyond the courts at Porte d’Auteuil. Through this partnership, BNP Paribas has a clear ambition: to support and develop the entire tennis ecosystem, from amateur level to the biggest international competitions. This tangible commitment, set to grow stronger in years to come, takes on various forms:

1/ Supporting federation activities

Clubs are the beating heart of tennis. BNP Paribas is therefore working alongside the French Tennis Federation to roll out its development plan, in particular Gilles Moretton’s “Plan Terres”, which aims to preserve and promote the exceptional heritage of clay courts in clubs and to increase their number nationwide.

2/ Fostering the emergence of young talent

Through the BNP Paribas Young Talents Team, launched in 2018, BNP Paribas currently supports 53 young players in France and more than 150 worldwide. Led by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alize Cornet, this programme aims to provide promising young tennis players with optimal conditions to reach the highest level. This year at Roland-Garros, several players from the BNP Paribas Young Talents Team are competing in the various draws, including: Arthur Gea, Moise Kouame, Ksenia Chasteau, Luca Van Assche, Diane Parry, Elsa Jacquemot and Eleejah Inisan.

3/ A long-standing commitment to ball kids

BNP Paribas has been a partner of ball kids for more than fifty years and has supported the selection process since 2000. Since last year, the Bank has contributed to the creation of the French Tennis Federation’s Ball Kids School, aimed at improving their training nationwide. This commitment is set to grow further, both in training and in the selection rounds held across France ahead of the tournament. With this in mind, BNP Paribas is launching season 2 of the Ball Kids Academy, broadcast on We Are Tennis, following the journey of ball girls and boys from the first day of the Roland-Garros selections right through to the final!

4/ Stepping up initiatives to promote accessibility and inclusion in tennis

BNP Paribas draws on its long-standing commitment to organisations such as Fête le Mur and Attrap’ la balle, as well as its support for the French Tennis Federation’s Solidarity and Environmental Actions Trophies. These awards recognise clubs that promote a more inclusive, supportive and responsible form of tennis. For the 2026 edition of Roland-Garros, a number of initiatives will also make the tournament more accessible, including a ticketing scheme for young people, offering nearly 40,000 spectators under the age of 25 half-price tickets, as well as invitations for those supported by partner charities working in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

5/ Building a unique connection with tennis fans

BNP Paribas boasts a special relationship with tennis fans through an ever-growing community brought together via the We Are Tennis platform. Once again this year, the Bank will be offering original content to more than 2.6 million fans worldwide, as well as exclusive experiences and benefits to make the most of the Roland-Garros experience.
