Elegance, authenticity, performance and emotion are all in this season, embodying the spirit of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection by La Griffe Roland Garros.

A new, brightly-coloured sport-chic wardrobe is being released to set the tone for the brand’s thirtieth anniversary. The collection is designed around three main themes: the Heritage line, which gives a modern twist to emblematic pieces from the RG wardrobe; the Message capsule, which lends a casual touch to the collection with its jokey inscription “j’peux pas, je suis à Roland” (I can’t, I’m at Roland-Garros"); and the Marinière capsule, which is inspired by the iconic Breton stripe.

A colourful nod is given to the pilot who lent his name to the Parisian tennis stadium, with a capsule collection of branded items that pays homage to the aviator on the centenary of his death.

Swatch, J.M Weston, Babolat and Carré Blanc are also serving up some ace collaborations.

While Rafa prepares to defend his title at the legendary French Grand Slam, we put together some stylish outfits that are perfect for tennis fans.

If you want to be dressed head to toe in Roland-Garros, here are five must-try looks that we have hand-picked from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection.

1. Under my trilby

If you are lucky enough to have a seat on the show courts this tournament, this trilby is sure to bring an irresistible je ne sais quoi to your French Open attire.

Radiate elegance under the brim of your Roland Garros trilby as you sip a drink in the stands or wander around the stadium.

Team your hat with a terracotta polo shirt and a knee-length, pleated white skirt. To polish off this flirty look, select some pretty gladiator sandals from your wardrobe and hook a Roland-Garros leather tote over your arm.

An effortlessly chic ensemble that you are sure to love…

2. Trompe-l'œil patterns

Pleated skirts are making a huge comeback this season – in short, midi or long lengths – and here we have a daring all-over “ball” pattern on a navy-blue background. Prints have always proven hugely popular at Roland Garros, and Jean Patou – who designed the first ever “sunburst pleat” for Suzanne Lenglen – would certainly have been wowed by this number.

We have opted for a full-on patterned look: a loose-fitting sleeveless top paired with a matching knee-length, pleated skirt.

We like the idea of making the tennis skirt more casual by teaming it with a loose sweater, J.M Weston trainers and coloured sunglasses.

This ensemble is sure to cause a stir on the avenues of the Porte d’Auteuil!

3. Old-school rules!

The 80s are back, and this fashion trend is not showing any signs of abating. Orange and navy blue are the perfect match for a fresh summer vibe, so make your terracotta chinos pop by shrugging on this jacket, with its eye-catching, striped teddy collar! Add a Swatch Chrono Match Point watch and a pair of navy blue J.M Weston trainers for a chic, sporty and energising ensemble.

And if bright colours aren’t your thing, simply opt for more muted trousers and a basic white tee.

Snug and easy to wear, this gabardine teddy jacket is sure to become a favourite accessory for chilling in the Village.

4. A scarf in your hair

If there is one item you are sure to covet, it’s this silk scarf, which will give all your outfits a refreshing twist thanks to its colourful and graphic pattern.

Try rolling it up and wearing it in your hair for a hippie-chic headband!

We think this retro accessory would look fantastic with an ecru crepe top and pleated skirt, polished off with a slick of red lipstick and a leather biker jacket to bring the look together.

To keep the notion of time in mind, adorn your wrist with a feminine yet sporty Swatch Gent Belle de Set watch

5. Knits are not just for Winter

A knit might not be the first thing in mind when putting together a Spring/Summer outfit, but we defy you to resist this cotton, cable-knit sweater. Its daring poncho-inspired cut, decorated with coloured strips, is sure to turn heads.

We would happily swap any t-shirt for this short-sleeved sweater, which goes perfectly with 7/8 chinos or well-cut jeans. For a more feminine style, add a pair of platform ankle boots.

With this new item in your wardrobe, you can throw together chic and sophisticated outfits with an on-trend sportswear vibe.
