Q. What was the key to explain this defeat? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, she played well. She played with a lot of spin. She didn't make a lot of mistakes. She played aggressive. Yeah, she was playing better than me today. I was always one step behind and couldn't really dominate the way I wanted to. Yeah, that's the way. Q. Did you expect she is so strong in this game? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, I knew that she was playing well. She reached the quarterfinals, so I knew that you're not playing badly when you reach so far in the tournament. I was expecting she was gonna play really well. Q. How did you feel physically? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I felt okay. I felt okay. Q. Were you surprised by Schiavone's game plan? She was attacking from the first point to the last one. CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I don't think I was surprised. She played well. Yeah, I think she's played like that the whole tournament. Q. What is the state of your ankle and the other injury, as well? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, the ankle is getting better, for sure. It's been improving. Yeah, I had some problems with the adductor from all the sliding on the clay. Hopefully now I can take a few days off and just get some rehab and get totally 100% done with everything before I come back on grass. Q. And the ankle was the only thing today? Or you had hamstring wrapped? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: It was my adductor that was wrapped. Q. How much did that limit you, if at all today? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, it didn't limit me really too much. The whole tournament I played with the ankle strapped. And, yeah, against Pennetta I felt a little bit the adductor, but, yeah, it wasn't worse than when I played Pennetta. Q. You are the one who plays the most tournaments. Why do you play so much tournament? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I don't think I am. I think there are many more players that play in more tournaments than me. I think the rules for the WTA limit me from playing tournaments, so for sure if you look under how many tournaments I will play this year, you will see that I will not play a lot of tournaments. Q. Francesca Schiavone, is she a player who is more difficult to play against Flavia Pennetta? CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I don't know if she's more difficult. Today for me it was, for sure, because I lost. She's definitely a difficult player to play against because she plays with a lot of spin. She plays differently. She mix up the balls a lot. Yeah, she didn't play typical women's tennis. |
