"Housse de Racket" on Myspace
The story began at a music conservatory with a meeting between two teenage fans of Stevie Wonder and Nirvana, Pierre and Victor. Ten years on, they have created their own group –Housse de Racket (which translates as racquet cover but also refers to house music) – and released their first album, “Forty Love”, co-produced and mixed by Renaud Letang, who has worked with Feist, Gonzales, Manu Chao and Micky Green among others.
The album blends a wide range of influences from the French music scene with lyrics harking back to the 60s and music that is resolutely poppy and modern. Imagine Phoenix, Serge Gainsbourg and Daft Punk partying together and you’ll get an idea of the Housse de Racket sound...
